Below is a compilation showcasing various magazine layouts, spanning diverse topics on fashion, lifestyle, jewelry, culture, tourism, etc. These assignments were developed collectively during my 3-month short Layout Design course at the DPI Center, a design tutoring hub in Vietnam, where I first ventured into editorial design. My passion for this craft eventually landed me my first full-time position as a layout graphic designer for Harper's Bazaar, a globally renowned women's fashion magazine based in the US.
From there, I learn how to create modern cutting-edge layouts with strong typographic elements and creative image placements. I also learned to display a balance of text and visuals, with attention to details of negative space, hierarchy, readability, flow, and color, all together crafting visually compelling stories that captivate and excite the readers.
Constantly learning every day as I go, the collection will continue to add a lot more layouts as I progress through my tenure here at Harper's Bazaar Vietnam. Sometimes, I enjoy revisiting previously created layouts for the already-published issues that I previously did and redesigned them up to my liking. This allows me more freedom to infuse creativity and originality into my personal work, showcasing ideas and my personal touch as an extension beyond the constraints of following the guidelines of the existing publication brand.
